La playa de San Lorenzo hosts the EDP Junior Pro Gijón, from November 5 to November 8, an international U-20 competition linked to the World Surf League.
- International participation: Around 150 surfers from some 15 countries, including four surfers who have been world champions.
- Local talent: Presence of the Gijón-born surfer Alfonso Suárez, circuit European champion and ninth in the world ranking last season.
- Gijón Surf City 2026: The event is part of this major program that also includes the EDP Surf Pro League, adaptive surfing activities, and beach cleanup days.
The competition can be comfortably followed from the paseo del Muro, with heat schedules subject to sea conditions.
