Documentary of the Month: "La Pietá"

The photographer Ragnar Axelsson returns to the farm of Flosi Björnsson, an isolated place at the foot of Iceland’s largest glacier that remained closed for more than a century, to invoke the voice of a man who dedicated his life to this landscape before melting ice became a global concern. This story, directed by Pepe Andreu and Rafa Molés, portrays the requiem sung by the glacier wrapped in its white shroud.

The film, a co-production between Spain, Iceland, and Lithuania (2026), has a duration of 82 minutes and is presented in VE. 🎞️

Through this tale, the directors explore the legacy of the Björnsson brothers, who lived apart from society and without descendants, dedicating their existence to the observation of the ice. It is an opportunity to learn about an intimate and profound perspective on the relationship between human beings and nature in one of the most extreme environments on the planet. 🏔️
