European Day of Languages

On the occasion of the annual celebration of the European Day of Languages, the Department of Culture, Linguistic Policy and Sport is organizing a commemorative event to highlight the linguistic and cultural diversity of the continent. The meeting focuses on Asturian and Eonavian as languages of Asturias and Europe.

Program

The event will feature a series of cultural activities:

• Round table: Debate on the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages and linguistic diversity, with the participation of MEP Jonás Fernández and the Deputy Director of Linguistic Policy, Nicolás Bartolomé.
• Poetic intervention: By Sofía Castañón.
• Musical performance: Short recital by a string quartet from the OSPA.
• Final toast: Gala cider will be offered to attendees.
