The 57th Descenso Folklórico del Nalón is a National Tourist Interest Festival held in Pola de Laviana. This great river excursion brings together numerous handcrafted boats that parade through the streets before making their descent down the river Nalón to the Prau de La Chalana, where participants enjoy a day of camaraderie among social clubs.
Program for August 22
- 13:30. Exhibition of boats.
- 15:00. Start of the parade from the intersection of Calle Mariano Menéndez Valdés and Av. Libertad.
- 18:30. Approximate start of the descent down the river Nalón from the Puente d’Arcu.
- 23:30. Awards ceremony gala at the Plaza del Paragüas.
For those who cannot attend in person, the Conexión Asturias team from the RTPA will broadcast the event live.
