El Desafío Sarrio is a civic-military and charity sports event held at the Campo de Maniobras de La Rad. The route passes through the municipal districts of Logroño, Villamediana de Iregua, and Agoncillo. It allows participants to run or walk through military terrain that is normally not open to the public.
It is organized by Club Sarrio III, formed in 2017 by people who have served or are currently stationed in the Batallón de Helicópteros de Maniobra n.º III (BHELMA III), whose NH-90 helicopter gives the event its name. The Government of La Rioja, Logroño Deporte, the city councils of Villamediana de Iregua and Agoncillo, and the battalion itself collaborate in the event. There are absolute and military categories.
