From sensitive data to the smart building

May 19, 2026, 07:30 PM
About the event

In this session, we will explore how artificial intelligence is evolving toward more secure and collaborative models, capable of learning without the need to share sensitive data, opening up new possibilities for protecting privacy in an increasingly digital world. We will also discover how engineering and new 3D capture technologies, such as LiDAR, allow for the analysis of seemingly immobile structures to understand how they respond to the passage of time, the climate, and their environment.

Ponentes

  • Diego Cajaraville Aboy (atlanTTic, Universidade de Vigo): He will speak about federated learning and the importance of distributed AI as an alternative to centralized models.
  • Patricia González Cabaleiro (CINTECX, Universidade de Vigo): She will explain how LiDAR technology allows for the analysis of the behavior and life cycle of buildings.
