A chat with the Botánico. The pollinator crisis

About the event

About the series

One afternoon a month, the Botánico moves to the city center with this series of informative talks. A new environment for dialogue with society to address, in a simple and enjoyable way, our links with plants, the environment, and biodiversity through literature, art, science, and gardening.

The pollinator crisis

We are facing the quiet extinction of pollinators, a very invisible crisis. Although these small animals go unnoticed compared to more striking species, they are essential for biodiversity and our well-being. The value of animal pollination remains undervalued, even among farmers who are unaware of the effects of pesticides on wild pollinators. Their decline represents a serious problem that threatens food security and human health.

This crisis requires educating about its importance, understanding the causes and consequences of their disappearance, knowing how we study them and how we can support them, and asking ourselves: how should this problem be perceived by politics, society, and the media?
