Taxonomic identification course for bees.

Friday, September 18, 2026 - Sunday, September 20, 2026
About the event

This second edition of the theoretical-practical course focuses on the identification of the main genera and species of bees in Asturias through the use of taxonomic keys and binocular magnifiers. The training, organized by the Jardín Botánico and ADAPAS, combines laboratory sessions with a field practice to apply the knowledge acquired. 🐝

The course is a free activity and is aimed at students, biology professionals, environmental professionals, and nature guides. It is necessary to have basic notions about the use of dichotomous keys and the morphology of the order Hymenoptera to participate.

The sessions are distributed over three days:

  • Friday 18: from 16:00 to 20:00 (theory).
  • Saturday 19: from 10:00 to 14:00 and from 15:30 to 19:30 (theory, taxonomy laboratory, and field practice).
  • Sunday 20: from 10:00 to 14:00 (theory and taxonomy laboratory).
