Immerse yourself in an afternoon of scientific outreach where we will explore complex realities of our healthcare and economic system. Through two approachable and direct talks, we will analyze the social challenges of hospitalization and the fundamental role of economics in our health.

Speakers and topics

• Amada Pellico (Department of Nursing, Universidad de Cantabria): She will talk to us about “bed blocking,” a critical situation where patients who have been medically discharged cannot leave the hospital due to a lack of social or family resources.
• Daniel Coca (IDIVAL) and Marina Barreda (SANFI - IDIVAL): They invite us to discover “health economics,” unveiling how healthcare systems are financed and what factors really influence the cost of our well-being.
