Conversation with Sakiko Nomura

If you are passionate about photography and cinema, you cannot miss this very special meeting with the artist Sakiko Nomura. It will be a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in her creative universe through an intimate talk and an unforgettable audiovisual experience. 📸

The event will take place on May 23, 2026 at 19:00 at the Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto. The activity, organized by the Fundación Municipal de Cultura, Educación y Universidad Popular de Gijón, lasts approximately 90 minutes and admission is free until full capacity is reached.

The program

The day will begin with a conversation between the artist and two prominent figures in the cultural field:

• Sakiko Nomura, artist.
• Carlos Gollonet Carnicero, chief curator of the photography collection at Fundación MAPFRE.
• Eva M.ª Vives Jiménez, exhibition coordinator at Fundación MAPFRE.

After the talk, the evening will continue with a very special screening:

• The short films Hiroki, Flower and Sea, directed by Sakiko Nomura herself, will be screened.
• The composer and pianist Joel Ribeiro, author of the musical score, will perform the soundtrack for these pieces live. 🎹
