Conferences "The future is already superconducting". Project "MeetLab: know the laboratory"

The conference day “The future is already superconductor” brings together researchers Pablo Cayado, Bárbara Álvarez, and Isabel Merino from the Universidad de Oviedo to explore this fascinating physical phenomenon and its current and future applications. ⚛️

The event offers three lectures ranging from the fundamentals of superconductivity to its crucial role in medicine and particle physics.

• First talk: Introduction to the basic principles, discovery, and unique properties, accompanied by simple experiments and perspectives in energy, quantum computing, and scientific facilities.
• Second talk: Focus on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), detailing the use of superconducting magnets in medicine and research.
• Third talk: Analysis of the role of superconductivity in particle physics and large accelerators exploring the structure of matter and the origin of the universe.
