Conference "Discovering science step by step: What is the atom?"

Pablo Cayado, “Ramón y Cajal” professor and researcher at the Universidad de Oviedo and president of “Villaviciosa ConCiencia”, gives this outreach talk to discover how our understanding of the atom has evolved through a historical journey. 🔬

The gathering has free admission and open access until full capacity is reached and no prior registration is required.

During the session, demonstrations with small models will be carried out to explain the fundamental parts of the atom and its most curious properties. Concepts such as nuclear fission and fusion will also be introduced in a simple way with accessible explanations that will help answer such interesting questions as whether matter is truly solid, in an event open to all audiences to bring science closer in an entertaining and clear manner.
