Compañeras. Telling through singing

The Contar cantando project proposes a journey through the history, customs, and traditions of Asturias in the 19th and early 20th centuries through traditional music. In this concert, the members of Compañeras perform pieces that were originally created by women who used song to narrate their experiences, feelings, and the events of their surroundings.

Each song in the repertoire is presented with a detailed explanation of its origin, the characteristic work of the area where it was collected, and the historical context of the time.
