Friday, April 24, 2026, 07:30 PM
About the event

Are you interested in delving into how we relate to animals and the ethical challenges we face today? I invite you to participate in this talk-debate, a necessary space for reflection where we will analyze current dilemmas surrounding bullfighting and the importance of integrating all animals into the Animal Welfare Law. 🐾

The event will take place on April 24, 2026 at 19:30 in the Salón de actos de la Escuela de Comercio in Gijón. This event is open to the general public and is a unique opportunity to hear different points of view from experts in the field.

Speakers

We will have the participation of three expert voices who will address the topic from the perspectives of philosophy, law, and activism:

  • Asunción Herrera, Doctor of Philosophy.
  • Luis Royo, from AVATMA.
  • Nuria Menéndez de Llano, lawyer and animal activist.

What will we talk about?

During the meeting, the diverse perspectives with which we view other animals will be presented, focusing on bulls and ruminant animals, about which there is strong controversy. The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of including them within the Animal Welfare Law.

After the presentations by our guests, a space for debate will be opened so that all attendees can participate and share their impressions. See you there! 🗣️

Organized by the Asociación Mujeres Ecofeministas Petra Kelly and Asturies Antitaurina.
