The renowned artist and image theorist Joan Fontcuberta will give the talk The future of nature / The future of images, in which he will reflect on how contemporary technologies are simultaneously transforming our natural environment and the ways in which we represent it. Drawing from projects such as De rerum natura (2022) and What Darwin Missed. Lo que Darwin pasó por alto (2025), the artist explores the boundaries between science, fiction, and visual imagination.
The activity is held within the framework of the exhibition What Darwin Missed. Lo que Darwin pasó por alto, which can be visited for free until October 13 at the Plaza del Centro Niemeyer. The project juxtaposes photographs of real corals with images generated through artificial intelligence.
