Cartoneras is a collective book creation workshop, which uses recycled materials as support. It is inspired by the Cartonero Movement, which emerged in Argentina in the 90s, due to the closure of many publishing houses because of the economic crisis. At that time, a collective proposed to create low-cost books using recycled cardboard. In this way, Cartoneras offers the opportunity to explore all the trades related to literary and editorial creation: writing, illustration, editing, production, and dissemination.
