Would you like to discover the natural wealth hidden very close to home? I invite you to participate in this citizen science day, where we will learn to observe, photograph, and share the fascinating flora of our peri-urban meadows. 🌿
This activity, organized by the Department of Environment and Sustainability, is a perfect opportunity to connect with the environment and discover the biodiversity refuges that harbor great plant wealth and intense pollinator activity, especially butterflies.
Practical information
The activity is completely free, although it has a limit of 20 spots. It will take place on May 17, 2026, from 11:00 to 14:00.
The meeting point will be the parada EPI Gijón (Escuela Politécnica de Ingeniería) city bus stop in the direction of Hospital de Cabueñes. You can secure your spot by registering through this link. 📍
What do you need to know?
To make the most of the experience, we will use the iNaturalist application. It is highly recommended that you download it on your mobile phone before attending, so we can register all our observations together in this collaborative database. 📱
