About the event
As a consequence of the overwhelming presence of wine in the daily life of people in the Middle Ages, the repeated allusions to wine, whether as a main or secondary actor, that appear in the great medieval codices, such as the Cantigas de Alfonso X, a capital work of this period composed of 427 songs in praise of the Virgin Mary, are logical.
Artefactum includes in this program three cantigas (23, 386, and 47), which refer to events and miracles directly related to wine. In vino veritas is a proposal where the group, beyond the music performed, intends to invite the spectator to become intoxicated with the spirit, the daily life, and the vital drive that permeated the people who in the Middle Ages built the foundations of our current society, all under the prism of that basic pillar of medieval culture: wine.
