The Summer in Gijón is Lived in the Street
“Arte en la Calle 2026” is the cultural program driven by Divertia Gijón S.A. that converts public spaces in the city into open scenarios for art and creativity.
Between the 20th of July and the 30th of August 2026, places like the Begoña Promenade and other squares in Gijón will host performances at 13:00 h, 18:00 h and 20:00 h, with 50 to 60 minute long shows.
Participation Modalities
🎵 Music
Open to professional artists and groups of any genre, as well as non-professional formations through the Amateur Contest.
Each artist will be able to perform a single act within the program.
Amateur proposals will receive a prize of up to 300 € per performance, according to programming criteria.
🎪 Circus
Exclusively for professional artists or circus companies.
💃 Dance
Directed at professional dance artists or companies.
🎭 Theater
For professional theater companies.
🎨 Other Artistic Modalities
Includes poetry, interventions, or other creative manifestations, as well as associative projects that promote citizen participation and cultural exchange in public space.
Particular emphasis will be placed on proposals that promote accessibility, innovation, and the creation of new audiences.
Technical Equipment
The organization will provide a sound system (P.A.), monitors, mixing desk, basic microphony, DI Box, and essential cabling.
The backline (instruments and amplifiers) will be the responsibility of each artist or company.
Registration Deadline
The registration period will be open from the 3rd to the 27th of March at 14:00 h, through the official form.
Only complete and submitted applications within the established deadline will be accepted.
“Arte en la Calle 2026” is an invitation to be part of a programming that transforms the city into a large outdoor stage, bringing art to all citizens.
