The violinist Ara Malikian presents “Intruso” at the Auditorio de Riojaforum, a show built around his own multicultural identity. He was born in Lebanon to a family of Armenian origin and later settled in Europe. As he explains himself, he never felt entirely Lebanese, Armenian, or European, and ultimately embraced the condition of the “eternal intruder” as a form of richness.
That idea translates into the music. In his concerts, Malikian transitions from Bach or Mozart to improvisation in styles such as jazz, gypsy, flamenco, or tango. He does not seek to adapt to each genre, but rather to bring his own voice and that of his violin, fusing diverse traditions into a personal sound. With “Intruso” he presents the stage as a home without borders, where music functions as a universal language.
