Would you like to discover the hidden stories behind the great female composers in history? I invite you to a fascinating meeting where we will explore the legacy of women musicians from the Middle Ages and how their voices, often made invisible, continue to resonate in the challenges faced by artists today.
This event will take place in the Salón de actos de la Biblioteca Pública Jovellanos. It will be a lively and intimate talk where history, performance, and critical analysis will join hands to connect the past with our current reality.
The protagonists 🎙️
To delve into this topic, we will have three complementary perspectives that will enrich the conversation:
- Pilar Almalé: Viola da gamba player and director of FEMMAZ (Festival de Mujeres en la Música Antigua de Zaragoza), who brings her experience in historical research and musical practice.
- Isabel Villanueva: Violist with a national and international career, who will offer us her perspective as a contemporary performer capable of reinterpreting ancient repertoires.
- Laura Viñuela: Musicologist and gender consultant, in charge of mediating and connecting the threads between historical reflection and the context of current composers.
Together, these three experts invite us to reflect on the role of abbesses, troubadours, and patrons, offering us a unique space to understand the experience of women in music throughout time. Don’t miss it!
