By Candlelight: "Unforgettable Songs", piano concert by Sigfrido Cecchini at the Acuario de Gijón

The A la Luz de las Velas series kicks off its Christmas weekend at the Bioparc Acuario de Gijón with “Unforgettable Songs”, a piano concert in the aquarium’s auditorium, featuring the large fish tank as a backdrop and a stage illuminated by hundreds of candles.

At the piano will be Sigfrido Cecchini, a regular pianist of the series, featuring a repertoire of ballads and popular songs from various eras and styles that, according to the organizer, “have touched the hearts of generations.”

Program: “Hallelujah” (Leonard Cohen), “Perfect” (Ed Sheeran), “Your Song” (Elton John), “Un beso y una flor” (Nino Bravo), “Vivo por ella” (Andrea Bocelli and Marta Sánchez), “El fantasma de la ópera” (Andrew Lloyd Webber), “Shallow” (Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper), “Ballade pour Adeline” (Richard Clayderman), “Alfonsina y el mar” (Mercedes Sosa), “The Sound of Silence” (Simon & Garfunkel), “All of Me” (John Legend), “What a Wonderful World”, “Bésame mucho” (Consuelo Velázquez), the “Concierto de Aranjuez” (Joaquín Rodrigo), “Piano Man” (Billy Joel), “Viva la vida” (Coldplay), and “My Way” (Frank Sinatra).

This is the first of six concerts the series is offering at the aquarium between December 18 and December 20; that same night, at 20:30, the “Christmas Special” takes place.
