88th Fiesta de las Piraguas - International Sella Descent

The 88th edition of the Descenso Internacional del Sella, also known as the Fiesta de las Piraguas, returns to the towns of Arriondas and Ribadesella. This event is one of the most iconic and significant canoeing competitions in the world, drawing participants and spectators from across the globe to the east of Asturias.

Beyond the high-level sporting competition, the event is a vibrant celebration of culture and camaraderie. The festivities officially kick off on the Friday before the race with a ceremony at the Parres Town Hall, featuring the twinning of nations and the raising of flags from all participating countries.
