38th EDP Ruta de la Reconquista Half Marathon

The 38th EDP Ruta de la Reconquista Half Marathon is the oldest road race in Asturias and one of the most iconic events on the regional athletic calendar. This year, the race reaches a historic record with 1,500 registered runners, combining sport with a strong commitment to charity.

The Route

The event features a 21.097-kilometer course that connects Cangas de Onís and the Real Sitio de Covadonga. Participants will enjoy a round-trip route that combines athletic challenge, history, and spectacular landscapes, passing by the sanctuary of Covadonga before returning to the former capital of the Kingdom of Asturias.

• Race date: May 30, 2026.
• Start: 17:30 from the Avenida de Covadonga, in front of the Casa Consistorial de Cangas de Onís.
• Solidarity: The 2026 edition will donate its charitable contribution to the El Ángel de Javi association, which fights against NEDAMSS syndrome.

Complementary Activities

On Thursday, May 28, at 19:30, the book Ruta de la Reconquista. Historia de una media maratón, 1988-2025 will be presented in the assembly hall of the Ayuntamiento de Cangas de Onís. The book is priced at 10 euros and all proceeds will be donated to the El Ángel de Javi association.
