Laura Bera is a singer-songwriter from Gijón who writes songs to provide a soundtrack for other people’s lives. Pop with big choruses and honest lyrics: songs about starting from scratch, about how hard it is to keep going, and about the people who stay. Coldplay and Imagine Dragons in the background, and a summer on the Asturian coast ahead.

She grew up singing at home, in Gijón — in her room, while washing dishes, everywhere — convinced that pursuing music was something other people did. It was Madrid that taught her otherwise: musicians playing on the street, open mics, songs that made their way without asking anyone for permission. Since then, she pays for everything herself: she produces, records, and shoots her music videos with what she earns working in design and advertising.

That is how “Mucho más” was born, written for a singer-songwriter contest at the Hard Rock in Madrid and dedicated to everyone who chases a dream without a safety net; “Me pongo colorada”, which started as a song sung right on the street in Gijón with her friend María Casals; and “Oasis”, her most ambitious single to date. Along the way, she won a contest on TikTok and ended up voicing a character in Wish, by Disney — recording studio, premiere, and all.

This summer, her schedule returns home: from the Paseo de Begoña, as part of the Arte en la Calle series, to the sunset concerts at the beach of Rodiles.
